Adam Lumpton
Adam Lumpton has used imagery to portray a sense of raw emotion, and illistrate the individuals feelings with different snapchats withihn the picture. This has effectivly created a clear underlying meaning behind each one of lack of self worth and doubt, represented by the individuals emotions and objects displayed. For example, the picture of the shoes represents the doubt the indivual has in herself, by the lack of knowing how to present herself, which shows the underlying meaning, even without the obvious facial emotions displayed in some of the other pictures. Adam Lumpton uses paint to diplay his imagery, which means he can create effects that would perhaps not be caught in a single photograph or still life drawing. This is effective as it draws attension to the movement within the scene, as well as impacting the aptmosphere displayed.
Adam Lumpton's fine art work has inspired me to bring this element of multiple imagery into photography, by using mulitple exposures to capture individual momments of a specific event occuring. I intend to do this with the use of a long shutter speed and a strong flashgun, in order to capture muiltiple exposures within an image, and portray a narrative throughout. I hope to be able to create an image that uses different opacities within photos, in order to mimic the effect that Adam Lumptin has bought to his artwork. In doing this, I think it will bring the technique Adam Lumpton uses to life, and present a realistic view of a stuation or scene.
