Typography

By incoorporating typography into an image, it enables a message to be delivered in more petail than if the image was on its on. This means a scene or event can be described in greater depth, leading to a clear theme to be bought across. This can create a sense of narrative within the image, with hidden meanings to be diplayed throughout. The two images on the bottom right give evidence that this can be effective, as they represent the indivduals personalities, feelings and emotions. If these images were just in their origonal form, there would not be a great deal that could be looked into, as only there expression is given, however with the overlay of words, its creates a wider picture of the individual. These images have inspired me to find artists that use typography within their work, and recreate my own to add an element of depth to my photos.

Narrative photography is the idea that photographs can be used to tell a story. Allen Feldman stated that "the event is not what happens. The event is that which can be narrated" ~ Wikipedia
